SAIC MG's first production MG 07 electric car rolled off the assembly line at the SAIC Motor Zhengzhou plant on July 2. The facility also marked a significant milestone by completing its 3 millionth vehicle production. The company stated that it took less than 23 months to reach this third million-vehicle milestone.

The MG 07 is built on SAIC's new generation new energy platform and is the brand's first all-electric coupe. The new model is anticipated to be priced in the range of 150,000 to 200,000 yuan.

The vehicle measures 4886mm in length, 1900mm in width, and 1478mm in height, featuring a fastback, coupe-like design. It is based on a new, highly integrated vehicle platform. For intelligent driving assistance, the MG 07 will be equipped with Momenta's R7 world model, incorporating LiDAR and enabling off-road autonomous driving (NOA) capabilities in urban areas.

Information from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) indicates the MG 07 will be available in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid variants. The all-electric version features a 67 kWh battery pack, offering two range options: 650 km or 610 km under the CLTC standard. Its drive motor, produced by Shanghai Automotive Gearbox Co., Ltd., has a maximum power of 176 kW. The plug-in hybrid model uses a 30 kWh battery, providing an electric range of 185 km based on the WLTC cycle. The powertrain combines a 1.5L engine (82 kW) with an electric motor peaking at 152 kW.
