Chinese automaker SAIC Motor reported sales of 406,000 vehicles in September. For the first nine months of the year, total sales reached 3.15 million vehicles, solidifying the company's position as the top automaker in China by volume.

The company's own brands saw sales of 304,000 vehicles in September, a 3.3% increase year-over-year. For the January-September period, sales of own brands grew by 12.6% to 2.3 million vehicles, accounting for 73.2% of SAIC Motor's total sales.

Sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) hit a record 225,000 units in September, up 18.7% from the previous year. Year-to-date NEV sales increased by 28.2% to 1.39 million vehicles, outpacing the industry's average growth.

SAIC Motor's overseas sales also showed strong performance, with 150,000 vehicles sold in September, a 49.1% increase year-over-year. From January to September, 1.17 million vehicles were exported, marking a 52.4% rise. The MG brand, in particular, sold over 280,000 vehicles in Europe during the first nine months.
