SAIC Motor to form joint venture with Momenta and Yandian Technology
Automaker SAIC Motor is establishing a 300 million yuan joint venture to advance its autonomous driving development capabilities.
SAIC Motor announced a new partnership with Momenta and Yandian Technology to form a joint venture aimed at accelerating the development of advanced autonomous driving technologies. The move is designed to strengthen the company’s product competitiveness in both domestic and international automotive markets.
The venture will operate with a registered capital of 300 million yuan. Momenta will hold a majority stake of 51 percent, while SAIC Motor and Yandian Technology will hold 25 percent and 24 percent, respectively. Yandian Technology, an subsidiary of SAIC-owned Yanfeng, specializes in smart cockpit solutions and electronic vehicle systems.
This partnership reinforces an existing strategic alliance. SAIC Motor is currently a major shareholder in Momenta, and the two companies have previously collaborated on the IM AD driving assistance system used by SAIC's Zhiji brand. Momenta, which went public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in July 2026, focuses on data-driven physical AI models for both mass-market and autonomous driving applications.
