Saint Anthony Hospital offers free RSV immunizations for children

Saint Anthony Hospital in Chicago is offering free respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) immunizations for children and adolescents up to age 19 who are uninsured or underinsured. The initiative, which includes newborns, aims to protect vulnerable community members during RSV season.

The free vaccinations will be administered from October 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027, at two hospital locations: the Physician Center clinic at 2875 W. 19th St. and the Archer Clinic at 4177 S. Archer Ave.

RSV can spread quickly before symptoms appear, posing a significant risk to infants and individuals with weakened immune systems. By providing widespread immunization, the hospital aims to slow transmission within the community.

Last RSV season, Saint Anthony Hospital led Chicago in vaccinating newborns within two days of birth, protecting over 72% of eligible infants. The hospital reported that 89% of its births were eligible for the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC), compared to Chicago's average of 46%.
