Saitama Prefecture Promotes Sayama-cha Tea Internationally
Saitama Prefecture in Japan has released a new video and brochure to showcase the traditional Sayama-cha tea to global markets.

Saitama Prefecture, Japan, has launched a new promotional campaign featuring a video and brochure aimed at introducing its traditional Sayama-cha tea to international consumers. The initiative seeks to highlight the tea's distinctive qualities and cultural heritage on a global scale.
Recognized as one of Japan's top three teas, Sayama-cha is noted for its rich flavor and mellow sweetness. Its unique profile is attributed to the climate of the Sayama region, located near Tokyo. Significant temperature variations between summer and winter contribute to the development of thicker tea leaves, enhancing the tea's umami content.
Traditional cultivation and processing techniques, including the "Sayama-bi-ire" roasting method, are employed to achieve the tea's characteristic taste. Many local tea farms are multigenerational family businesses that manage the entire production process, from cultivation to retail.
The prefecture aims to establish Sayama-cha as a recognized brand internationally through this outreach. The campaign targets potential buyers and lifestyle companies worldwide, with the objective of increasing global awareness and demand for the tea.
