Samfara Acquires Danish API Manufacturer Chr. Olesen Synthesis

European life sciences investment firm Samfara announced the completion of its acquisition of Chr. Olesen Synthesis, a Danish manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and advanced intermediates. The company, based near Copenhagen, specializes in controlled substances used in treatments for opioid use disorder and ADHD.

Chr. Olesen Synthesis operates a cGMP-certified plant that has been in commercial production since 2015, supplying pharmaceutical companies across Europe, North America, and the Middle East. The business combines technical expertise with flexible manufacturing capabilities.

Samfara's investment is intended to support Chr. Olesen Synthesis in developing its capabilities, expanding its customer base, and entering new markets. Jean-François Hilaire, former CEO of Unither, will join the board as Chair.

Samfara stated that the acquisition aligns with their strategy of investing in specialized niches and supporting companies with capital and strategic guidance. They anticipate working with the management team to drive growth both organically and through further acquisitions.
