Sami Riekkola to leave Valmet's Executive Leadership Team
Valmet announced on July 22, 2026, that Sami Riekkola, EVP of Pulp, Energy and Circularity, will be leaving the company. His last day at Valmet will be no later than January 22, 2027.
Valmet Oyj announced today that Sami Riekkola, Executive Vice President of the Pulp, Energy and Circularity business area and a member of the company's Executive Leadership Team, has decided to leave Valmet. His final day with the company will be January 22, 2027, at the latest.
Riekkola has been with Valmet for 28 years, holding various leadership positions within the organization. His departure comes as the industrial sector continues to focus on optimizing operations and sustainability initiatives.
The company has initiated an immediate search for Riekkola's successor. According to the press release, Riekkola is departing to pursue an opportunity outside of Valmet.
