Samsung Ads: Holiday Purchase Decisions Begin Earlier
Samsung Ads highlights that consumer purchase decisions for the holiday season are increasingly being formed much earlier. TV advertising and streaming services influence buying decisions months before the peak season.

Samsung Electronics' advertising division, Samsung Ads, is warning that traditional holiday marketing strategies no longer align with consumer behavior. The company states that an increasing portion of consumer purchase decisions for holiday products are being made months before the actual campaign period begins.
According to an analysis released by Samsung, television has evolved from a passive medium into a multi-functional platform. Approximately 83% of TV viewing now includes activities beyond simple watching, such as browsing, gaming, or second-screen engagement. This means consumers are exposed to advertising stimuli and shaping their preferences before campaigns launched during the holiday season even start.
Data indicates that consumers begin researching holiday products well in advance. In the U.S., for instance, two in five consumers start researching purchases before Black Friday, with a significant portion making purchases during this early window. Samsung Ads emphasizes that TV advertising, particularly Connected TV (CTV), influences up to 30% of the consumer's purchase process.
The company stresses that instead of focusing on campaign timing, it is more crucial to understand when consumer attention and purchase intent are being formed. Samsung Smart TVs offer brands access to millions of potential customers with demonstrated buying intent and purchasing power. Continuous presence and audience engagement throughout the entire consideration window are key to succeeding in the competitive landscape.
