Samsung advert features man named Tim Cook

Samsung New Zealand has released a new advertising campaign for its Galaxy Z Fold 8 smartphone, featuring an individual named Tim Cook. This Tim Cook, hailing from Palmerston North, coincidentally shares the same name and a similar appearance to Apple's CEO.

The advertisement was launched shortly after Apple announced its iPhone Duo. The Samsung ad mimics Apple's signature cinematic product launch style, with "Tim Cook" stating, "the future is here," in reference to Samsung's latest device.

Additionally, the ad appears to subtly reference Apple CEO Tim Cook by alluding to his recently updated profile picture, a move seen by many as a playful jab in the ongoing tech rivalry.

The campaign aims to capture consumer attention in a competitive market, encouraging a switch to Samsung devices with the hashtag #SwitchToGalaxy.
