Samsung and Reality Defender Partner on Deepfake Detection Tool

Samsung Electronics Singapore has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Reality Defender, a New York-based company specializing in deepfake detection. The agreement aims to develop and deploy an enterprise-focused tool capable of identifying AI-generated voices, videos, and images on Samsung Galaxy devices.

The tool will analyze content directly on the device, reducing the necessity of sending sensitive data to the cloud. Samsung intends to roll out this technology starting with the Galaxy S26 series and subsequent models, as well as flagship Galaxy tablets.

This collaboration occurs amid growing concerns about digitally manipulated content. Singaporean authorities have previously issued warnings regarding scams involving deepfakes, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore released guidance on related cyber risks in September 2025.

Industry data highlights the increasing threat. A 2024 survey by Regula indicated that 56% of businesses in Singapore had experienced audio deepfake fraud, and 52% had encountered video deepfakes, underscoring the demand for such detection technologies.
