Samsung Biologics attains 'Negligible Risk' rating in ESG assessment
Samsung Biologics has secured a 9.0 ESG risk score, ranking the company among the top 0.5% in the pharmaceutical sector for risk management.

Contract development and manufacturing organization Samsung Biologics has improved its standing in the Morningstar Sustainalytics ESG Risk Ratings, moving to the 'Negligible Risk' category. With an ESG risk score of 9.0, the company now ranks among the top 0.5% of assessed pharmaceutical firms.
Morningstar Sustainalytics evaluates roughly 16,000 companies globally, measuring how effectively they manage material ESG risks. A score below 10 is classified as negligible, reflecting strong internal oversight and low levels of unmanaged risk.
According to CEO John Rim, the rating is a result of consistent improvements in operational areas, including environmental auditing, occupational health, safety, and business ethics. The firm intends to maintain this disciplined approach as it expands its international manufacturing footprint.
This upgrade complements other recent sustainability performance benchmarks for the company, including an 'A' rating from MSCI and a Platinum Sustainability Rating from EcoVadis earlier this year.
