Samsung Display expands QD-OLED certification program for Chinese internet cafes
Samsung Display aims to increase the number of certified internet cafes in China to 60 by 2026, focusing on units equipped with its QD-OLED panels.
Samsung Display has launched a certification program for internet cafes in China, partnering with manufacturers such as AOC, Asus, HKC, MSI, Titan Army, and ViewSonic. The program mandates that participating venues must feature at least 30 displays powered by Samsung's QD-OLED technology to receive certification and accompanying promotional materials.
Currently, 10 locations operate under this certification. The company intends to scale this presence to 60 venues by the end of 2026, leveraging the significant role internet cafes play in the Chinese gaming market. According to company data, these venues account for 30% to 40% of all OLED gaming monitor sales within the country.
This expansion follows rapid growth in the self-emissive gaming display sector in China. Market data from IDC indicates that sales of these monitors rose from 25,000 units in 2023 to 560,000 units in 2025. By embedding its hardware in high-traffic gaming environments, Samsung Display seeks to secure a stronger position in the competitive high-end monitor market.
