Samsung Electronics is reportedly developing new NAND flash memory solutions engineered for artificial intelligence (AI) workloads. According to ZDNET Korea, the company is working on zNAND-T and zNAND-I memory products, which will supplement the previously announced zNAND-O.

The zNAND-T model, with 'T' signifying 'Throughput', is designed to optimize read and write bandwidth for AI semiconductors in data centers. This variant utilizes TSV-stacked NAND dies to enhance performance in demanding data environments.

Conversely, the zNAND-I model, where 'I' represents IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second), focuses on improving performance for frequent small data read and write operations. This is particularly beneficial for scenarios like KV Cache offloading.

These three zNAND variants represent a shift from general-purpose NAND flash to more customized solutions. This specialization aims to meet the evolving and specific demands of diverse applications, particularly within the rapidly growing field of AI.
