Samsung Expands DRAM Market Share Lead, Micron Narrows Gap with SK Hynix
Samsung Electronics increased its global DRAM market share to 39% in the recent quarter, according to Counterpoint Research. Micron Technology has reached 25% market share, closing in on SK Hynix.

Samsung Electronics solidified its leading position in the global DRAM memory market last quarter, expanding its share by one percentage point to 39 percent, Counterpoint Research reported. Meanwhile, competitor Micron Technology has captured a 25 percent market share, trailing SK Hynix's 26 percent by a narrow margin.
SK Hynix saw its market share decline by one-third from the previous year, despite reporting a significant year-over-year revenue increase. Analysts attribute this to falling average selling prices for HBM memory and the impact of previously signed long-term agreements.
Samsung benefits from strong demand in the traditional DRAM market and an increasing share in the HBM segment. Micron, in contrast, experienced a fivefold increase in its DRAM revenue compared to the same period last year.
Beyond the top three, Chinese manufacturer Changxin Memory and Taiwan's Nanya Technology also reported substantial revenue growth. Changxin Memory is anticipated to firmly establish itself as the fourth major DRAM player in the near future.
