Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra May Exclusively Use Qualcomm Chip
Reports suggest Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra might not feature the Exynos 2700 chip, even though its production yield is reportedly excellent. This could mean the device will solely use Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor.
New information indicates that Samsung's anticipated Galaxy S27 Ultra smartphone may not utilize the company's own Exynos 2700 processor. Previously, rumors suggested that Samsung would adopt a dual-chip strategy, using Exynos for some markets and Qualcomm's Snapdragon for others.
Sources claim that while the Exynos 2700 chip is currently achieving excellent production yields, Samsung has not yet allocated it for the Galaxy S27 Ultra. This suggests the device might be exclusively equipped with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset.
Earlier reports had pointed to the Exynos 2700 entering mass production with a 10% increase in output compared to its predecessor, the Exynos 2600. However, the final decision for the Galaxy S27 Ultra remains unconfirmed. Given that the device is not slated for release until next year, conflicting reports are expected to continue.
Samsung's chip sourcing strategy for its flagship devices has significant implications for its supply chain and its relationship with chip manufacturers. The company's final decision will be closely watched by industry observers.
