Samsung is expected to unveil its upcoming Galaxy Tab S12 series of tablets on October 7, according to reports. The new lineup will reportedly consist of two models: the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, omitting a standard version. Pre-orders are anticipated to commence on the launch date, with the devices becoming available approximately one week thereafter.
Pricing for the new tablets suggests an increase over the previous generation. For instance, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage (WiFi) is estimated to cost $1,399.99, up from $1,299.99 for its predecessor. The top-tier 16GB RAM and 1TB storage (WiFi) variant of the Ultra model is projected to be priced at $1,999.99.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is said to feature a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and a 11,600 mAh battery. It is expected to measure 5.1 mm in thickness and weigh around 693 grams, supporting 45W wired charging. Rumors suggest the devices will be powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9600 chipset and run on Android 17 with the One UI 9 interface.
For its part, the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus will sport a 12.6-inch display and a 10,600 mAh battery, with an estimated weight of 553 grams. Both models are expected to support the S Pen stylus, though it is not anticipated to be included in the box. The tablets are expected to be offered in gray and silver color options.
