Samsung is reportedly developing a successor to its triple-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold 2. The new device is expected to prioritize significant improvements in reducing its physical dimensions and weight, alongside enhancing overall durability.

The Galaxy Z TriFold 2 is anticipated for a 2027 release. Current triple-folding phones are considerably thick and heavy; for instance, one model measures 12.9mm when folded and weighs 309 grams. This contrasts with other foldable designs, like the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is 8.9mm thick and weighs 215 grams when folded. A slimmer and lighter triple-folding device would offer a notable improvement in portability and user experience.

Pricing for the Galaxy Z TriFold 2 is expected to remain around $2,899, similar to its predecessor. However, the company faces uncertainty in maintaining this price point due to ongoing increases in component costs.

Alongside the TriFold 2, Samsung may also introduce a new rollable screen smartphone. These devices typically forgo traditional hinges, extending their display area via a rolling mechanism. Samsung has previously showcased technologies like "Flex Hybrid," which blends folding and sliding capabilities, and the 12.4-inch Rollable Flex panel.
