Samsung Electronics has announced the new Galaxy SmartTag 3 tracker. The device is up to 35% smaller and offers longer battery life compared to its predecessor.
Samsung Electronics has unveiled its latest Galaxy SmartTag 3 tracker. The new model is approximately 35% smaller and 33% lighter than the previous generation. It is set to launch in early November, priced at $29.99 for a single unit.
The Galaxy SmartTag 3 boasts an extended battery life, lasting up to 790 days in power-saving mode and 550 days in standard use. This marks an improvement over the previous SmartTag 2, which offered 500 and 700 days respectively.
For the first time, the tracker supports cross-system compatibility, working with iOS devices in addition to Galaxy devices. The SmartThings Find service allows users to view and share tag locations and utilize a proximity search feature.
Location tracking capabilities have been enhanced with Bluetooth 6.0 detection and a Compass View feature, providing directional guidance up to 60 meters away. Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology offers more precise detection when nearby. If the SmartTag 3 goes out of range, its location can be updated via Samsung's Galaxy Find Network, leveraging over 900 million devices worldwide.
