Samsung Study Reveals UK Tech Habits

Britons are spending an average of 6 hours and 54 minutes per day on technology and domestic appliances outside of work, according to a new Samsung study. The research also found that UK households possess an average of 19 technology devices.

Over the past three months, UK households spent an average of £218 on technology devices, £73 less than the European average of £291. Italy recorded the highest spending on technology among European nations surveyed.

Mobile apps are the most popular form of technology usage, with two-thirds (66%) of British adults using their mobile phones for app access. Gaming and entertainment apps are the most favored, used by 56% of respondents. Streaming services for TV and film are also gaining traction, with 60% of Britons using them, and 62% using them at least weekly.

While daily tech usage time may be lower than in some European countries, the UK has a high density of devices per household, averaging 19 devices compared to the European average of 18. Televisions and mobile phones are the most commonly owned devices, with over a third of households reporting owning two of each.
