San Antonio, Texas – The Greater San Antonio region has been named one of North America's "Cities to Watch" by Oxford Economics. This distinction comes as the region surpasses its 2026 economic development goals, announcing 7,098 jobs and $4.8 billion in capital investment year-to-date.
The recognition highlights San Antonio's emergence as one of the United States' most dynamic economies. Growth is driven by advancements in sectors including advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defense, cybersecurity, new technologies, financial services, and life sciences.
Led by the greater:SATX Regional Economic Partnership, the region's economic competitiveness has been bolstered by extensive collaboration among businesses, educational institutions, and local government. This cooperation has attracted major employers and strategic investments, laying the groundwork for sustained economic expansion.
Oxford Economics' Global Cities Index identified San Antonio as one of five North American metros to monitor. The analysis cited the region's economic diversity, labor force growth, strong military presence, and expanding higher education and business base.
