San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance Appoints New Executives
San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance has appointed Annie Fitzgerald as Chief Operating Officer and Allyson Carr as Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing extensive experience to leadership roles.
San Diego, CA – July 9, 2026 – San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance announced today the appointment of two new executives to its leadership team. Annie Fitzgerald joins as Chief Operating Officer, and Allyson Carr joins as Chief Human Resources Officer.
Fitzgerald brings over 20 years of experience in organizational transformation and operational excellence. In her role as COO, she will oversee daily operations and contribute to the Alliance's global conservation mission. She previously held leadership positions at Grand America Hotels & Resorts and The Westgate Hotel.
Carr brings more than two decades of human resources leadership experience from global companies such as General Mills and Thermo Fisher Scientific. As CHRO, she will focus on developing HR strategies and fostering a people-centered culture to support conservation efforts.
The appointments are intended to strengthen the Alliance's operational and human capital strategies as it continues its work in wildlife conservation and research. Both executives are expected to leverage their expertise to enhance organizational effectiveness and drive the Alliance's mission forward.
