Sana Biotechnology to present preclinical CAR T data at ASGCT meeting
Sana Biotechnology announced that preclinical data for its SG293 in vivo CAR T product candidate will be presented orally at the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) 2026 Annual Meeting on May 12.
SEATTLE – Sana Biotechnology, Inc. shared that preclinical data for its in vivo CAR T product candidate, SG293, has been selected for oral presentation at the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) 2026 Annual Meeting. The presentation is scheduled for May 12 in Boston.
The SG293 candidate utilizes Sana's proprietary fusogen-based delivery technology to deliver genetic material to CD8+ T cells, aiming to create CD19-directed CAR T cells directly within the body. This approach is designed to potentially avoid delivery to non-target tissues, such as the liver, and mitigate associated concerns.
Sana Biotechnology intends to explore SG293 for both B-cell cancers and B-cell mediated autoimmune diseases. The company suggests the technology offers a differentiated method for in vivo CAR T therapy, enabling potent and precise treatment.
The ASGCT Annual Meeting is a key conference for advancements in gene and cell therapy. The abstract detailing the research highlights the "Potent, safe, and cell-specific in vivo generation of CAR-T cells in NHPs with SG293," indicating positive findings from non-human primate studies.
