Sand.ai secures $200 million ahead of MAGI-2 video model release
Chinese AI firm Sand.ai has reached unicorn status following a $200 million funding round. The capital is earmarked for infrastructure and the upcoming launch of its MAGI-2 video model.

Chinese video-generation developer Sand.ai has raised $200 million in a Series A+ funding round, bringing its total capital raised this year to $300 million. The investment grants the company a valuation exceeding $1 billion, marking its transition to unicorn status.
Cornerstone Capital and Wangsu Science & Technology co-led the financing. Sand.ai plans to allocate the funds toward research and development of its video models, infrastructure for training and inference, and international market expansion.
The capital injection coincides with the upcoming release of MAGI-2, an advanced video-generation model utilizing a mixture-of-experts architecture. This development places Sand.ai in competition with an increasing number of domestic and international firms focusing on large-scale generative video tools.
