Sandvik wins large mining equipment order in Democratic Republic of the Congo
Sandvik has received a significant order for underground mining equipment from Kamoa Copper S.A. for the Kamoa-Kakula copper mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The order is valued at approximately SEK 275 million.

Swedish industrial group Sandvik announced it has secured a substantial order for underground mining equipment from Kamoa Copper S.A. for use at the Kamoa-Kakula copper mine, located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The order is valued at approximately SEK 275 million (around EUR 25 million) and is scheduled to be booked in the third quarter of 2026.
The Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex is described as a long-life, high-grade underground mining operation. Sandvik's delivery will include trucks and loaders, with two of the loaders to be equipped with Sandvik's AutoMine® system for autonomous operation. Deliveries are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026 and continue through the third quarter of 2027.
Kamoa-Kakula, recognized as one of the world's largest copper deposits, has been undergoing significant expansion, necessitating investment in advanced mining machinery. Sandvik's equipment is expected to enhance operational efficiency and safety within the challenging underground environment.
