Sanofi India Limited (SIL) and Cipla Limited announced on March 26, 2024, an exclusive partnership for the distribution and promotion of Sanofi's range of Central Nervous System (CNS) products in India. The agreement was approved during a board meeting of Sanofi India Limited.

Under the terms of this agreement, Cipla will manage the distribution and promotion of six of Sanofi's CNS brands, including Frisium®, a leading anti-epileptic medication. While Sanofi will retain ownership, import, and manufacturing responsibilities for its CNS products, Cipla will leverage its extensive distribution network and sales force to expand patient access across India.

The partnership is set for an initial period of five years and aims to enhance the reach of Sanofi's CNS portfolio by utilizing Cipla's established market presence and infrastructure. This move is part of Sanofi India's strategy to strengthen its therapeutic offerings in the country.

Sanofi India continues to focus on accelerating its innovation pipeline in therapeutic areas such as diabetes, transplantation, rare diseases, consumer healthcare, and vaccines. The company has a long-standing presence in India, with a commitment to improving healthcare access and developing local clinical trials.
