Pharmaceutical company Sanofi has continued to supply essential medicines and humanitarian aid to Ukraine and neighboring countries amidst the ongoing conflict. As of a September 2022 update, the company reported that its donations of medicines and vaccines have reached a value of €23 million.

The aid includes 31 million daily treatment doses for chronic conditions like diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, alongside 450,000 vaccines, including 300,000 doses against tetanus and diphtheria. Furthermore, Sanofi has donated €4 million to the Red Cross and €1 million to UNHCR to support those affected by the crisis.

In line with international community positions, Sanofi has halted all new spending in Russia and Belarus that is not directly related to the supply of essential medicines and vaccines. This includes stopping all advertising and promotional activities and halting the recruitment of new patients for ongoing clinical trials in these regions.

To ensure continued patient access to medication, Sanofi has implemented measures such as relocating supplies from high-risk areas, establishing new logistics centers, and forging new partnerships. The company is also supporting its employees in Ukraine and neighboring countries and facilitating volunteer efforts for medicine sorting and distribution.
