Sanofi and Innate Pharma have expanded their collaboration focused on developing cancer therapies that leverage natural killer (NK) cells.
Under the terms of the expanded agreement, Sanofi gains an exclusive license to Innate Pharma's ANKET™ program targeting B7H3. Sanofi also holds options to license up to two additional ANKET™ targets. Following candidate selection, Sanofi will assume responsibility for all development, manufacturing, and commercialization efforts.
Valeria Fantin, Global Head of Oncology Research at Sanofi, emphasized the company's exploration of NK cells' potential in cancer immunotherapy, a key component of its oncology strategy. This collaboration aligns with Sanofi's aim to build a diverse portfolio of next-generation NK cell engagers.
The renewed partnership builds upon a 2016 agreement between the two companies, which has already led to one molecule entering clinical studies. Innate Pharma will receive an upfront payment of €25 million and is eligible for up to €1.35 billion in milestone payments, plus royalties on potential net sales, pending regulatory approval.
