Paris – Pharmaceutical company Sanofi raised its full-year financial guidance on Thursday, October 28, 2021, now projecting business earnings per share (EPS) growth of approximately 14% at constant exchange rates (CER). This marks an increase from the company's previous forecast of around 12% growth.

The upgraded forecast follows strong third-quarter results, during which Sanofi's sales increased by 10.1% to €10.4 billion. Key growth drivers included a 54.6% surge in sales for the drug Dupixent®, alongside significant growth in vaccine and consumer healthcare portfolios.

Business EPS saw a 19.1% increase at CER in the third quarter, reaching €2.18 per share. The business operating income margin also improved, rising by 2.2 percentage points to 34.1%. Sanofi highlighted progress in its research and development pipeline, with positive clinical data and regulatory approvals for several treatments.

In addition to its financial performance, Sanofi announced accelerated environmental targets, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2030. The company estimates that currency fluctuations will negatively impact its 2021 business EPS by 3.5% to 4.5%.
