Sanofi Upgrades 2026 Guidance After Strong Q2 Performance

Sanofi announced on July 30, 2026, a robust second-quarter performance, with sales growing 17.8% at constant exchange rates (CER). Following this strong showing, the pharmaceutical company has raised its financial guidance for the full year 2026.

Sales from pharmaceutical launches surged by 48.3% to €1.3 billion, primarily driven by products such as Ayvakit, ALTUVIIIO, and Sarcaisa. Dupixent's sales also saw a significant jump of 37.6%, reaching €5.2 billion and marking the first time quarterly sales for the drug surpassed €5 billion. In contrast, vaccine sales decreased by 4.7% to €1.1 billion, attributed to a high comparison base from influenza vaccines in the previous year.

Research and development expenses rose by 17.9% to €2.2 billion, reflecting costs associated with pipeline prioritization. Selling and general expenses increased by 9.0% to €2.5 billion, largely due to recent acquisitions and one-off items. Business earnings per share (EPS) stood at €2.09, representing a 33.3% increase at CER.

Sanofi achieved seven regulatory approvals during the second quarter across immunology, rare diseases, oncology, and neurology. The company also reported two positive Phase 3 study readouts and secured four additional regulatory designations. However, Sanofi decided not to proceed with global regulatory submissions for amlitelimab and discontinued clinical development programs for itepekimab and balinatunfib.

The company now anticipates approximately 10% sales growth at CER for 2026, with business EPS expected to grow slightly faster than sales at CER. Sanofi also completed its €1 billion share buyback program.
