SAS Adds Routes and Frequencies for Summer Travel Season
SAS is expanding its summer and autumn flight offerings by adding 10 new European routes and increasing frequencies to popular destinations. The airline will also resume direct service to Tokyo in June.

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has announced a significant expansion of its flight schedule for the upcoming summer and autumn seasons, driven by increasing travel demand. The airline is adding ten new European routes and increasing frequencies to popular Mediterranean destinations such as Alicante, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Split.
Beginning in June, SAS will also re-establish direct service to Tokyo, Japan, operating three weekly flights. This move signifies a broader network recovery for the carrier, which is also launching new routes to Newark, New York, from Gothenburg and Aalborg.
The airline is also boosting capacity on several existing European and domestic routes. This includes increased flights from Scandinavia to Milan, Florence, and Naples in Italy, as well as more domestic services within Norway and Denmark.
SAS stated the expansion aims to meet "increasing demand and desire to travel." The company also highlighted its fleet composition, which includes newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft like the Airbus A350 and A321LR for long-haul routes and the A320neo for short-haul, noting their reduced emissions and noise levels compared to older models.
