SAS Chief Operating Officer Simon Pauck Hansen to Leave Airline

SAS AB announced on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, that Simon Pauck Hansen, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, has decided to leave the airline.
Pauck Hansen, who began his career at SAS as a trainee 26 years ago, has played a key role in the company's SAS Forward restructuring plan. He was instrumental in guiding the airline through the industry's pandemic-induced crisis. According to SAS, the main components under Pauck Hansen's responsibility are now realized or planned as the company enters the next phase of its business transformation.
SAS President & CEO Anko van der Werff expressed gratitude for Pauck Hansen's significant contributions and sadness over his departure. Pauck Hansen described the decision as difficult and expressed thankfulness for the experiences and opportunities he received during his tenure.
Mikael Wångdahl, currently VP SAS Link and External Production, will temporarily assume the role of Chief Operating Officer. Wångdahl brings extensive experience from the aviation sector and long operational background within SAS. The handover is expected to be completed during January 2023.
