SAS Crew Guide App Named Among Best Travel Apps of 2011
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) Crew Guide mobile application has been recognized by Apple as one of the best travel apps in Scandinavia for 2011. The app has been updated with new destinations.

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has received recognition for its Crew Guide mobile application, with Apple naming it among the best travel apps in Scandinavia for 2011. The app, initially launched with a focus on New York, has now been expanded to include Chicago and London.
The Crew Guide application offers travel tips from SAS flight and cabin crew, providing insights into activities, restaurants, and shops. The concept is derived from a popular book series where airline staff share their unique recommendations. The app has already seen significant uptake, with over 50,000 downloads for the New York guide alone.
"The Crew Guide app has shown us the incredible amount of interest there is in having these tips more accessible through smartphones," stated Christina Ericsson, Project Manager for SAS Crew Guide. She highlighted the success of the app, noting that over 50,000 customers have downloaded the New York guide, making the Apple recognition particularly pleasing.
The app is available for iPhone users and will soon be launched for the Android platform. SAS sources tips from its crew and customer requests, encouraging staff to provide additional recommendations based on demand, such as for golf-related activities or specific destinations.
