SAS Launches New Long-Haul Routes to Dubai and Thailand for Winter 2026/27
SAS is expanding its intercontinental offering for Winter 2026/27 with three new long-haul routes from Copenhagen to Dubai, Phuket, and Krabi.

SAS is expanding its long-haul network for the Winter 2026/27 season, introducing three new routes from Copenhagen to Dubai, Phuket, and Krabi. These additions aim to meet growing demand for travel to the Middle East and Asia, while reinforcing Copenhagen's position as a global hub for Scandinavia and Northern Europe.
The airline will resume service to Dubai, its first operation to the UAE since 2011, positioning the city as a destination for both leisure and business. For Thailand, SAS is significantly increasing capacity by over 75 percent compared to the previous winter. The airline will become the sole carrier offering direct scheduled commercial flights from Scandinavia to three Thai destinations: Bangkok, Phuket, and Krabi.
The new routes are scheduled to offer convenient timings and maximize connecting opportunities from Europe. SAS stated that the expansion is supported by the addition of two new Airbus A350 aircraft, increasing A350 operations by 34 percent across its network. The airline also highlighted improvements in its operational performance over the past year.
Capacity will also see increases on other long-haul routes to North America and Asia. Boston will receive 70 percent more seats, San Francisco 20 percent, and Chicago 10 percent. In Asia, frequencies and seat capacity will grow for Seoul, Tokyo, and Bangkok, in addition to the new direct flights to Phuket and Krabi.
