SAS Ranks Among World's Top 10 Most Punctual Airlines in 2024

SAS achieved an 81.4% punctuality rate in 2024, positioning it as the second most punctual among major European airlines, following Iberia Group, and securing a place within the global top 10. As a member of the SkyTeam alliance, SAS noted that its partners also feature prominently in the global rankings.

The achievement represents a significant improvement from 2023 and is attributed to a coordinated effort across the airline's operations. This included daily monitoring, consistent follow-ups, and targeted actions to address operational challenges that could impact schedules.

SAS highlighted that punctuality is a key factor for passenger trust and satisfaction. The airline also stated that improved on-time performance aligns with its commitment to more sustainable travel, as reducing delays minimizes unnecessary fuel consumption and contributes to more efficient operations.

President & CEO Anko van der Werff credited the result to the dedication and teamwork of SAS employees, particularly in navigating challenging winter conditions prevalent in Scandinavia. The on-time performance data was provided by Cirium, an aviation analytics firm.
