SAS Ranks as World's Most Punctual Airline for Second Consecutive Month
SAS has been named the world's most punctual airline for May 2025, topping both European and global rankings for the second month in a row, according to Cirium's monthly report.

SAS has once again been recognized as the world's most punctual airline for May 2025, securing the top position in both the Global Airlines and European Major Airlines categories in Cirium's latest monthly report. This achievement marks the second consecutive month SAS has led these rankings, reflecting a sustained focus on operational stability.
The airline has implemented various initiatives over the past year to enhance reliability and reduce delays. These include closer inter-departmental coordination, more structured daily planning, and improved use of data to guide operations. The positive impact of these measures is evident in both overall performance statistics and day-to-day operations.
"This achievement is a testament to our incredible teams across SAS – from network and crew planning to technicians and operations control – who show true dedication every single day," said Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS. "It proves what’s possible when everyone pulls in the same direction."
In May, 89.72 percent of SAS flights arrived on time, placing it ahead of competitors like Saudia and Aeromexico. This is the third consecutive month that airlines from the SkyTeam alliance have secured the top three global positions, with SAS also holding the number one spot in April.
The improvement in punctuality is part of a broader effort to strengthen SAS's operational quality following its transformation. The airline has introduced new internal targets, streamlined turnaround processes, and enhanced performance tracking to ensure continued reliability.
