SAS to Join SkyTeam Alliance in September

SAS has formally signed an agreement to become a member of the global airline alliance SkyTeam. The airline will officially join the alliance on September 1, 2024.

The move is expected to enhance travel options and connectivity for SAS customers. SAS's Scandinavian hubs, including Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm, will bolster SkyTeam's network, granting travelers access to over 1,060 destinations worldwide.

SAS EuroBonus members will benefit from the alliance. Silver members will attain SkyTeam Elite status, while Gold and Diamond members will receive Elite Plus status. This includes access to over 750 airport lounges and SkyPriority services, such as priority check-in and boarding.

SAS CEO Anko van der Werff described the agreement as a significant milestone. SkyTeam representatives highlighted SAS's commitment to customer service and anticipated a smooth transition.
