Sauder's Eggs Donates Weekly to Address Food Pantry Protein Shortage
Sauder's Eggs is making weekly donations of fresh eggs to a food pantry in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to help address a significant protein gap.

Sauder's Eggs, based in Lititz, Pennsylvania, has begun a weekly donation of farm-fresh eggs to the St. Paul Penryn food pantry. This initiative aims to address a national challenge where food banks struggle to maintain an adequate supply of protein-rich foods like eggs.
According to the CDC Foundation, animal protein constitutes only 14% of the food distributed through the charitable food system, despite consistent demand from families in need. Eggs are cited as one of the most requested staples, with supply often failing to keep pace.
Sauder's Eggs is contributing to bridging this gap by leveraging its network of approximately 96 partner farms and over six and a half million hens to ensure a steady stream of protein for those requiring assistance.
The company also emphasizes the quality and safety of its products. Sauder's Eggs tests its flocks for Salmonella Enteritidis more frequently than federal regulators require and adheres to quality minimums that exceed USDA benchmarks. They also work with farms that follow Certified Humane standards.
Founded in the 1930s by Frank Sauder, Sauder's Eggs operates as a third-generation family-owned company that has built its reputation on supporting farms and producers. The company manages five processing plants and three marketing arms, upholding principles of integrity and product excellence.
