SAXON Q Opens Pre-orders for Room-Temperature Quantum Computers
German quantum computing firm SAXON Q has announced pre-orders for its 128 and 512 qubit systems. These computers operate at room temperature within standard server racks, eliminating the need for cryogenic cooling.

SAXON Q, a German diamond-based quantum computing company, has opened pre-orders for its SXQ128 (128 qubit) and SXQ512 (512 qubit) quantum computer systems. A key development is their ability to operate at room temperature within standard server racks, utilizing regular power supplies and negating the need for cryogenic cooling, vacuum equipment, or specialized facilities.
This departure from traditional quantum computing setups, which often require extreme cold and complex infrastructure, aims to significantly simplify deployment and reduce operational costs. The company states that the systems offer a 6-10x energy efficiency advantage over GPUs for certain workloads, such as convolutional neural networks.
SAXON Q attributes its progress to a proprietary sulfur infusion process, which has enabled a qubit preparation success rate exceeding 85% and a qubit fidelity of 99.92%. The systems run on SAXON Q's multi-core quantum operating system, with the SXQ128 providing eight entangled qubits per core and the SXQ512 offering sixteen entangled qubits per core.
The SXQ128 is slated for official release in late summer 2026, followed by the SXQ512 in the second quarter of 2027. These advancements could pave the way for broader adoption of quantum computing technologies across various industries.
