Scan Sverige completes acquisition of Delsbo Slakteri and Jämtlandsgården
Scan Sverige has finalized the acquisition of Delsbo Slakteri and Jämtlandsgården following regulatory approval, aiming to expand slaughter capacity in northern Sweden.

Scan Sverige, a subsidiary of the Lantmännen group, has completed its acquisition of Delsbo Slakteri AB and Jämtlandsgården Livsmedel AB. The move follows regulatory approval and is intended to increase the company's slaughter capacity in northern Sweden, supporting plans to expand beef and lamb production.
The acquired operations will be managed by Scan Sverige as separate business units. CEO Lars Appelqvist noted that the integration is intended to strengthen local production capabilities and improve supply chain efficiency in the region.
In addition to these acquisitions, the company is evaluating the potential for building a new slaughterhouse in northern Sweden, with a feasibility study currently underway. A final decision on this potential facility is scheduled for autumn 2026. These efforts align with broader national food strategy objectives aimed at increasing domestic food production.
