Scandic Hotels Group is expanding its franchise portfolio with the addition of a new hotel in Köping, Sweden, set to open in January 2027. The hotel will be operated by Norlandia Hotel Group and will offer 110 renovated rooms under the Scandic brand.

Köping, located approximately 1.5 hours by car from Stockholm, is a regional hub known for Sweden's second-largest inland port and a significant manufacturing industry. The hotel is strategically situated near the city center and the popular Kristinelund Sportsfield.

The property, currently operating under a different brand, is undergoing a full renovation. It is scheduled to welcome Scandic guests in early 2027, featuring 110 rooms, a restaurant, and meeting facilities for up to 150 participants.

"Scandic's franchise model allows us to grow in smaller cities across the Nordics where we currently have no presence," stated Jens Mathiesen, President and CEO of Scandic Hotels Group. Morten A. Kahrs, CEO of Norlandia Hotel Group, expressed satisfaction with expanding the existing partnership.

The hotel will be certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, one of the industry's most stringent environmental certifications. This new establishment reinforces Scandic's presence in the Swedish market.
