Scandic Hotels and Hilton formalize Nordic development agreement
Scandic Hotels Group and Hilton have signed a multi-year development agreement to expand Hilton-branded properties across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland.

Scandic Hotels Group and Hilton have entered into a strategic partnership to pursue hotel development opportunities across the Nordic region. The multi-year agreement allows Scandic to leverage its operational platform and regional footprint to manage new Hilton-branded properties, while Hilton provides its global brand recognition to the local market.
The initial phase of the agreement includes a 284-room hotel project near Copenhagen Airport, expected to open in 2029 under a franchise model. Additionally, the companies plan to explore synergies between their loyalty programs, Hilton Honors and Scandic Friends.
The partnership builds on a two-decade relationship, during which Scandic has operated existing Hilton properties in Helsinki. According to Scandic CEO Jens Mathiesen, the deal aligns with the company's long-term growth strategy by integrating global hospitality brands with its established Nordic infrastructure. This move occurs as the Nordic region experiences sustained growth in both domestic and international tourism demand.
