Scandic Hotels Begins Hotel Construction in Frankfurt's Hafenpark Quartier
Scandic Hotels has commenced construction on a new 505-room hotel in Frankfurt, Germany, as part of the Hafenpark Quartier development. Construction began in January 2020.
Scandic Hotels began construction in January 2020 on a new 505-room hotel in Frankfurt, Germany. The project is part of the larger Hafenpark Quartier development, located near the European Central Bank. The B&L Gruppe, a German developer, is responsible for the project.
The hotel is being built along the Main River, adjacent to Hafenpark. The development also includes plans for 288 apartments, office spaces, retail units, and a daycare center. Designed by architect Hadi Teherani, the overall aim is to create a vibrant urban district integrating living, working, and leisure.
According to Michel Schutzbach, Managing Director of Scandic Hotels, the hotel will emphasize sustainability, accessibility, and inclusion. Scandinavian design principles will be combined with local influences. The hotel is slated to open in 2022.
The Hafenpark Quartier development will encompass approximately 180,000 square meters of gross floor area. The first phase includes rental apartments, retail spaces, and a daycare. B&L Gruppe has 50 years of experience in real estate development and has completed numerous hotel and residential projects in Germany.
