Scandic Hotels Group completes acquisition of Dalata hotel operations

Scandic Hotels Group has officially closed the acquisition of Dalata Hotel Group’s hotel operations. The deal includes 57 hotels totaling approximately 12,500 rooms, along with a development pipeline of roughly 1,600 additional rooms.

The transaction was finalized at a purchase price of 500 million euros on a cash and debt-free basis. Financing was secured through a combination of existing cash reserves and loan facilities established by the company in July 2026. The operations are set to be consolidated into Scandic’s “Other Europe” segment effective November 2, 2026.

CEO Jens Mathiesen stated that the acquisition is a key growth step, noting that Scandic’s previous experience operating these properties on behalf of Pandox provided the company with confidence in the business's potential. The addition of the Clayton and Maldron hotel brands significantly increases Scandic’s footprint in the UK and Ireland.

With this acquisition, Scandic now operates over 320 hotels across 150 destinations in 11 markets. Further financial details and pro forma reporting will be released alongside the company's third-quarter results on November 10, 2026.
