Scandic Hotels to Offer Digital Newspapers and Magazines to All Guests
Starting January 2017, Scandic hotel guests will receive free, unlimited access to over 5,000 digital publications via the PressReader app.
Scandic Hotels Group announced on January 12, 2017, that effective January 16, 2017, all guests and visitors will have free and unlimited access to over 5,000 national and international newspapers and magazines on their mobile devices through the PressReader app. This makes Scandic the first hotel chain in the Nordic region to offer this service across all its hotels.
The initiative aims to enhance the digital guest experience and strengthen customer relations. The service provides access to publications in over 60 languages and supports Scandic's environmental goals by reducing paper consumption.
"We see a significant shift in how our guests consume media. To meet their behavior and expectations, we hope this service will contribute to a smooth and modern customer experience – in an environmentally friendly way," stated Thomas Engelhart, Chief Commercial Officer at Scandic Hotels Group.
Guests can access the service via Scandic's Wi-Fi network by downloading the PressReader app or visiting its website. Publications can be downloaded for offline reading and kept for later use. While digital content is emphasized, a limited selection of printed daily newspapers will still be available at the hotels.
