Scandic Names First Danish Signature Hotel Bassin Seven
Scandic Hotels has revealed the name of its first Danish signature hotel in Aarhus Ø. Bassin Seven, featuring 342 rooms, a large spa, and meeting facilities, is set to open in the first quarter of 2027.

Scandic Hotels has named its first Danish signature hotel Bassin Seven, located in the Aarhus Ø waterfront district. The hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027 within the 19-story Irmahus building, designed by BIG.
Bassin Seven will feature 342 rooms, a 2,000-square-meter spa spread across three floors, a rooftop bar, and extensive meeting and event spaces. The hotel aims to serve as a meeting point for hotel guests, locals, and businesses, significantly expanding Aarhus's hotel and conference capacity. The spa will draw inspiration from Nordic nature, while its restaurants and rooftop bar will offer locally inspired experiences.
Peter Jangbratt, COO of Scandic Denmark and Sweden, described Bassin Seven as an "experience-driven, urban resort with a strong local connection." He stated that the hotel will enhance Aarhus's appeal as a destination and support the area's ongoing development.
The Irmahus building will also house six floors of office space. The developers are Kilden & Hindby and Anders Holch Povlsen. Stylt is responsible for the hotel's interior design. Scandic already operates three other hotels in Aarhus, but Bassin Seven will be its inaugural signature hotel in Denmark, characterized by its unique name, design, and concepts.
