Scandic Opens New Hotel in Tromsø
Scandic Hotels Group has opened The Dock 69°39 by Scandic in Tromsø, adding 305 rooms to its portfolio and significantly expanding its footprint in Northern Norway.

Scandic Hotels Group opened its newest property, The Dock 69°39 by Scandic, in the central Vervet district of Tromsø on Tuesday. The 12-story hotel adds 305 rooms to the company's regional capacity, nearly doubling its room count in the city to 695.
Asle Prestegard, COO of Scandic Norway, stated that the hotel was designed to accommodate the rising demand from leisure travelers visiting Northern Norway. The property features eight conference rooms, a wellness area, a restaurant, and a rooftop bar.
Sustainability was a primary factor in the development, with the building achieving a BREEAM Excellent rating and holding the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. Design features include interior materials made from recycled fishing nets and an exterior roof structure capable of supporting a heated running track for year-round use.
The project marks the sixth signature hotel for the group. These properties are managed with a specific focus on unique design elements and location-based experiences, positioning them differently from the standard Scandic hotel model.
