Scandic to Give Away Breakfasts to Combat Food Waste

Scandic Hotels Group is participating in the international day against food waste on September 29 by distributing surplus breakfast items free of charge across all its hotel locations.

The hotel chain collaborates with the app Too Good To Go to reduce food waste. Typically, hotels sell surplus food through the app, but on the international day against food waste, the food will be given away for free.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of reducing food waste. The company states it has reduced its edible food waste by 31 percent since 2019.

The partnership with Too Good To Go began at the start of the year and has so far saved 50,000 meals. All Scandic hotels are Svanen certified, adhering to strict sustainability requirements, including efforts to minimize food waste.
