Scandic Hotels Group will open a new hotel in western Berlin in the third quarter of 2026, adding to its German portfolio. The company has signed a lease agreement with AXA Investment Managers for a 214-room property which will undergo a full renovation to align with Scandic's brand standards.

This expansion increases Scandic's footprint in Berlin to three hotels with a total of 992 rooms. Germany is a key market for Scandic, benefiting from Berlin's status as a major European hub for both leisure and business travelers.

The new hotel is strategically located near the Kurfürstendamm shopping street and significant business complexes. Post-renovation, it will feature modern meeting facilities, dining and bar options, and a fitness area with a sauna. The property will also pursue Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification.

This move aligns with Scandic's strategy to grow in attractive markets. The company aims to establish the hotel as a popular destination for both leisure and business guests in West Berlin. Following this opening, Scandic will operate nine hotels in Germany, comprising a total of 2,849 rooms.
