Scandic Hotels is set to open a new hotel in Kista, Stockholm, in September 2011. Standing at 118 meters, Scandic Victoria Tower will be the city's tallest hotel and the second-highest building. The 34-story structure, designed by architect Gert Wingårdh, features a distinctive diamond-inspired exterior clad in glass and steel.
The interior boasts designer furniture from brands such as Vitra, Montana, and Flos, with property owner Arthur Buchart noted for investing in the upscale furnishings. Helena Söderberg, formerly of Scandic Anglais Stockholm, has been appointed as the hotel's director.
The new hotel is anticipated to become a significant landmark for Stockholm and its Kista district. Stephanie Smitt Lindberg, Sales and Marketing Director at Scandic, stated that the construction has been highly visible and that Kista has long desired a larger hotel facility.
Scandic Hotels Group operates as the largest hotel company in the Nordics, managing approximately 280 hotels and 58,000 rooms. The company emphasizes its commitment to sustainability across its operations.
