Scania delivers first electric truck to Chile

Scania Chile has delivered the country's first fully electric truck, which will now join the logistics fleet of food company PepsiCo. This delivery represents a significant step towards more sustainable transport solutions in Chile and underscores Scania's commitment to its science-based emission reduction targets.

As part of the agreement, Scania is also supplying six gas-powered vehicles to PepsiCo. The collaboration aims to significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions and promote the adoption of electric mobility within the transport sector. Scania has set goals to reduce emissions from its own operations by 50% and from the products used by its customers by 20% by 2025.

"We are excited to welcome our first electric truck to Chile and to partner with PepsiCo on this journey towards electromobility. This partnership is a testament to both companies' commitment to sustainable innovation and emission reduction," said Ignacio Urcelay, General Manager of Scania Chile.

PepsiCo highlighted that the integration of these new, low-emission vehicles is part of the company's broader strategy to advance environmental responsibility throughout its supply chain. PepsiCo actively seeks partners whose corporate values align with its own sustainability objectives.
